About Us

We are…

…a diverse group of imperfect people. We believe in God—triune, unique, holy. He is our Creator, who loves us infinitely. God, the Father, sent his only Son into this world so that all people could experience this love and receive the forgiveness of sins. We experience God's love and grace, salvation in Jesus Christ, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit every day.

…a family.

We are a family in Christ who wholeheartedly desire to love God and our neighbors. All generations gather to worship God, encourage one another, and grow in faith. Together, we are part of God's family and want to support each other, share our joys and sorrows, pray for one another, offer practical help, and serve our community. Family life can be challenging: we strive to treat each other honestly and lovingly while practicing forgiveness. Our church life also includes shared meals, men's evenings, women's meetings, youth and children's activities, retreats, outings, and much more.

…from all over the world.

We come from Germany, the USA, Ukraine, Venezuela, Kyrgyzstan, and more, and now live in and around Leipzig. Although we are all different, Jesus has brought us together. Everyone is welcome. Together we can be a blessing to one another and to those around us. Together we proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ—until he returns.

…changed — by Christ.

Our goal is to become more and more like Jesus, our Savior, and to reflect His love into the world. We strive for this goal every day. Through baptism, we have died, been buried, and risen with Jesus Christ—we are forgiven and lead a new life in Christ. In Him, we are new people, filled with His Spirit and are children of God. A relationship with God transforms your entire life. Including yours! Come and see!

What you hope for is stored up for you in heaven. You have already heard about it. You were told about it when the true message was given to you. I’m talking about the good news that has come to you. In the same way, the good news is bearing fruit. It is bearing fruit and growing all over the world. It has been doing that among you since the day you heard it. That is when you really understood God’s grace.
— The Holy Bible, Colossians 1.5-6

…gifted.

You are gifted in many ways and are needed to help build the Kingdom of God! Contribute your gifts, which God has given you through his Holy Spirit. We celebrate this diversity within the Church that is the Body of Christ! Use your gifts for the glory of God! And yet: “It is not who plants or waters, but God who makes things grow.” The Bible — 1 Corinthians 3:7

…hospitable.

We love hospitality and sharing meals together. And not just because of the good food… “Be hospitable without grumbling!” (1 Peter 4:9) — a challenge for and an enrichment of our relationships in equal measure. Jesus often sat at the table with his disciples and strangers. We believe we are called to do the same. That's why such strengthening times are always part of our community — you are always welcome to join us!

…Christians.

We are Christians. That means we follow Jesus Christ and his words—we read about them in the Bible. We do not belong to any umbrella organization. Our ministry is financed entirely by voluntary donations from members and friends of the church. You are welcome to support us in this mission to spread the word about Jesus and the Gospel in and around Leipzig.

loved — forgiven — home

Have you ever wondered why these words are hanging in our window? They remind us, firstly, of God's promise to us, his children. We are loved! Through Jesus Christ, our sins are forgiven! And we may be at home with him for eternity! But they also remind us of life together here and now: We are to love one another. We are to forgive one another. And we want to be a home for each other and our neighbors, a place and community where God and his love are experienced.
